BUILDING AERODYNAMICS AND WIND ENGINEERING

University of Limerick Footbridge, Ireland, United Kingdom

Building aerodynamics and wind engineering involve the assessment of buildings to: -

  • vortex shedding

  • galloping, and

  • classical flutter

Investigation into the susceptibility of a 230m-long multiple span footbridge at the University of Limerick, Ireland, United Kingdom to aerodynamic instability in terms of galloping, classical flutter, vortex shedding and also random turbulent response to BD49 was conducted.

Note project is a previous principal work experience at Arup.
