AMPANG LINE EXTENSION TRAIN STATIONS

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

13 no. Light Rapid Transit (LRT) elevated stations structures within the RM1.5bil. Ampang Line LRT extension project. The station structure consists of a concourse level of steel construction (spanning over road width requirements) supporting a platform level of RC construction and an encompassing steel roof over. The design involves careful construction feasibility and sequencing considerations due to the location of the stations in highly urbanized and trafficked sites. A significant feature of the station structure is the long span tubular arched trussed roof structure. The structural design caters for vehicular impact loading in common with Bridge Design Codes and the seismic design of significant public facilities in this low-level seismicity region. Pedestrian link way bridges of a variety of types and forms frame into the station structure to provide access for commuters.

Note project is a previous principal work experience at HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd.
